![]() If I felt like getting fancy maybe a pico projector onto a blank wall or writable surface.ĮDIT now you've got me thinking. The handy thing is because it's Windows it syncs between my phone, home computer and even my work calendar because they use Microsoft Outlook.Īs for displaying it large, I would probably connect an old computer or tablet to a monitor sitting on a shelf or the counter in the kitchen. I only recently switched over from paper calendars on a wall to a synced one between computers and phone. When I get some time, I've thought about Kickstarting something like this to see if anyone else thinks it's a good idea. I don't see anyone paying $100+ for something like this since that's probably the minimum I could see this costing which will barely cover the hardware, not to mention the software/marketing/etc. My biggest hiccup on this has been price. In terms of implementation, I was thinking:ġ) Cheap Android 10" tablet (maybe 7", but it seems kinda small).Ģ) Custom app/launcher to organize the screen into those tasksģ) Maybe make the app available on Google Play at a price so people could download it to their existing tablet, but they lose out on the nice wall mounted charging station for the tablet, which is kinda key to making it useful in your kitchen. So you can detach the tablet from the wall, and put it next to you on the counter and refer to the recipe (I was thinking it may be good if the Tablet has a kickstand for this purpose so you can prop it up to read easier).Ħ) With it detachable, it you could (in theory) take it with you to the store since it has the lists and stuff, but if you have your phone, then the tablet is kinda overkill.ħ) Maybe include some kitchen table games on it to play after dinner? Key features:ġ) Wall mounted/charging station, easy to pop in and out of the mount.Ģ) Integrate with Google Keep for shared lists (grocery lists, general store lists, house todo lists, etc)ģ) Integrate with Google Calendar for events.Ĥ) Connects to everyone in the houses individual Google Calendar/Keep items so as soon as someone adds something to their calendar, it shows up on the main 'house' calendar.ĥ) Simple recipe management, probably just organized/searchable bookmarks to online recipe sites. I've been pondering a gadget/app like this for about 2 years. Other subreddits The BIG list of related subreddits Pro Tip: Computers can get viruses. Message the moderators, and we will look at it.
